My old FormMail script is no longer working with my new server. I downloaded another script called bnbform and it’s not as intuitive as FormMail. FormMail is a very old script and it’s still better than the newer one. Anyone recommend a good script that handles forms?
My sitemeter in my blog stopped working at around 6am. I have no idea why. And I’m sure I didn’t do anything with my blog then. I wasn’t even awake yet. I wonder where I can ask for help.
I know I mentioned BlueHost was great. I still like them. But I’ve been experiencing frequent, but short downtimes. It has started a couple of weeks ago, but I only started logging approximate times yesterday:
- 3/6 Tue: 0800, 1000, 1810
- 3/7 Wed:Â 1217, 1520, 1559
- 3/8 Thu: 1535, 1935
- 3/9 Fri: 0920, 2341, 2350
- 3/10 Sat: 0059, 1434, 1606
The downtime usually lasts anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. I can’t keep track of all the times they happen, I’m not browsing my sites all the time. But so far, those are the times I was able to keep track of.
WTF Wednesday
Last night, I was working on my current project: boarding pass pockets. My client decided she wanted a different type of pocket, one that kinda looks like a pouch or an envelope with a slit not quite in the middle. The cutting and gluing is so hard work. I like doing it, but now my right hand and arm are killing me!

Then when I returned to my computer, my screen was blank. I clicked on everything and nothing. I tried to restart my computer and it wouldn’t. I finally unplugged it and when I switched it on, it just got stuck on that screen saying “Compaq.” I was aching and so pissed. Until after about a minute or two, my computer was up. I guess I had to be more patient. But I wonder why my computer just blacked out on me in the first place and took so long to restart.
WTF Wednesday
First, I had a really bad Friday when I couldn’t get a flight from Grand Cayman to Little Cayman in the afternoon. I was calling everybody from airlines to hotels to try figure out a new itinerary for our schedule. A more detailed post to come.
Second, I was too excited to pick up my new snorkel yesterday that I went to directly to the dive shop after work. When I got home, I realized my first day of Cake Decorating Course 2 was that night. But it was too late! I have to enroll again next month.
Third, I opened my shopping bag and realized that snorkel they gave me was wrong! Now I have to go back there again to exchange it.
WTF Wednesday
I got a new desktop on Black Friday and got my monitor, a gift from John, on Christmas. I was excited. But the Linksys wireless adapter (WMP54GS) I bought is interfering with our cordless phone. So every time somebody is on the phone, I get disconnected.
I called Linksys Technical Support (they’re actually very helpful), but the problem hasn’t been resolved. I was told that there are no other products that won’t interfere with our cordless phone and that I have to either change my cordless phone or reposition it. Then I responded, “Then why were the two laptops that were on the same desk as the desktop that keeps getting disconnected were connected fine the whole time?” I really didn’t get a straight answer.
I better get a refund for this network adapter.
WTF Wednesday
My laptop’s screen got messed up. I left the laptop on and got some dinner. When I came back, there was this black strip about 2.5 inches thick running across the screen from top to bottom!
I haven’t recently bumped or dropped my laptop (note recently – yup I’ve bumped it more than I should before). I switched it off to cool it off hoping it gets fixed. After half an hour, the stupid black was still there!
Aaarrrgggghhh!!!
Someone please help me.
WTF Wednesday
I’ve been having this very uncomfortable pressure on my chest and throat since Thursday night. Acid reflux, heartburn? But I don’t feel the burning nor the acidic taste in my mouth. I took acid reducer anyway, but that did not work.
I finally decided to go see a doctor today – six days after. But the earliest appointment I could get would be tomorrow. So I went to the hospital. The triage nurse interviewed me, checked my vitals, and took an EKG. I was expecting to go back to the waiting room and wait to be called by a doctor, like the others. But no. I was put on a stretcher and wheeled straight to the examination area. Somebody mentioned sinus tachycardia.
The doctor saw me and prescribed antibiotics.  I had throat infection. I asked about the EKG and he said I’m young, I’m fine and there’s nothing to worry about. Whew. So now here I am blogging with my ailing throat and a slight headache.
