Shortcut to getting human customer service

You can say I’m a little impatient.  I even posted about skipping the voicemail greeting when calling a cellphone.  But sometimes, you just don’t have the time.

A couple of days ago, I was trying to contact RCI for some complicated issue and I know I needed a human customer service since I’ve been dealing with them about it for a while now.  I was in a hurry, but I had to go through a long list of automated options before I get to the option to speak with a human customer service.

So for those who share my “impatience” with automated service or just don’t have the time, you can find a list of shortcuts to getting human customer service in several companies at GetHuman.com.  I’ve know about the site for a while, I just didn’t remember to blog about it til now.

Shortcut to getting human customer service

They didn’t have RCI, so the shortcut to getting a human customer service at RCI is to press 0 twice during the greeting.

More travel resources

I found more helpful resources for planning your next travel.  I usually keep a list of links to travel resources here.  You can click on the menu above then click Links > Resources > Travel.  On to the new resources…

Yahoo! Trip Planner
It’s an online travel community where travelers share their trips.  Travelers can post their itineraries, even add a map view.  They can also create a trip journal.  You can browse through these trips and use it as guides to create your own itinerary.

FareChase.com
Another airfare aggregator that searches airline sites and online travel booking agents.

AirfareWatchDog.com
Not just another airfare aggregator.  While other aggregators give computer-generated results, with AirfareWatchDog.com, you’ll get a real person searching for you.  The advantage of this is that they get to search airlines like Southwest and Jetblue that are not usually searched by the other aggregators.  They also include smaller airlines like Allegiant Airlines.

Mobissimo.com
A great airfare aggregator for international flights.

*Airfare aggregator searches several different websites for airfares, minimizing the need for travelers to search hundreds of websites to find the best airfare.

What’s your Hawaiian name?

Did you know that there are only 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet?  The Hawaiian alphabet has the 5 vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and 7 consonants (h, k, l, m, n, p, w).

So what’s my Hawaiian name?  Aylee does not have one, but Gail does.  My Hawaiian name is Kaila.  I like it.  Click here to know yours.

Your travel rights

I speak out when I think I’m right.  I haven’t had any major problems with my flights.  Only once, when our flight/s back to NY were cancelled due to a blizzard in NY.  I didn’t complain about that coz it was weather-related.  Noone can control the weather and we just have to accept it.

But for other reasons, don’t hesitate to speak out and demand.  Your weapon to fighting delays, cancellations and missed connections is Rule 240.  Each airline has a Rule 240 that contains the airline’s policies or what they will do for late or stranded passengers.  Click here to learn more about Rule 240.
