Real Inspiration: Going nautical on Block Island

Block Island… what a beautiful island to have a nautical wedding.  Emily and Joe’s wedding is a nice treat for all nautical brides.  The beautiful sea of sailboats provided a perfect backdrop for the ceremony.  I love the rope touches on every little detail, from the invitations to the knot handle of the favor boxes.  At the end of the day, Emily and Joe invited their guests to a bonfire on the beach.  They provided the guests with lanterns, flip flops, and tote bags with fleece blankets in them to keep them cozy.  Just awesome!  Photos were taken by Snap! Photography.

Real Inspiration: Meredith + Jason

Meredith and Jason’s wedding was filled with unique and fun details.  Don’t you love the photo of the girls with the surfers?  And it’s such a cute idea for the guys to wear the caps of their favorite teams.  What a great way to integrate something personal into the wedding.  My favorite was the decor, the merging of the sea and land.   Photos were taken by Millie Holloman Photography.

Navy Blue in the house

When I imagine the house that I would be living in, I never imagine navy blue on any of the walls even though I love navy and white.  But when I saw this bedroom at House Beautiful, I guess that will change.  The walls are beautiful.  And who would have thought shutters would make for a great headboard and bedroom decor?

Real Inspiration: Seaside Inspired Love Affair

Kaite and Jordan’s wedding is the ultimate seaside inspiration.  Every little detail just screams seaside chic.  The couple fell in-love on the beaches in the Hamptons.  So for their wedding, a Hampton-inspired theme is just fitting.  Amorology has made this event a true Hampton affair.  Just look at the “beside the seaside” photobooth set-up. It’s the best set-up I have ever seen to date. Wedding images taken by Amelia Lyon Photography and photobooth images by The Digital Orange.

If only…

If only I just started planning my wedding and I haven’t picked out my colors yet, the colors in this inspiration board by Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs will definitely be my colors.  I went to Elizabeth Anne Designs blog for my daily visit and saw this beautiful board.  It was love at first sight. It would be perfect for a seaside wedding.

Real Inspiration: Sea, Sand and Sunset

The feeling of sand between your toes, the sound of the waves, the flutter created by the wind, the playful color of the sunset reflected by the sea… Alexander and Josh’s wedding… these are why I love beach weddings.  Alexander and Josh’s wedding is an absolute inspiration.  Don’t you just love the sunset?  And all the beautiful things about the wedding including the handsome couple were wonderfully captured on (digital) film by Vue Photography.

Real Inspiration: Clambake on the Cape

Where else to hold a clambake but on the Cape?  Alyssa and Scott’s rehearsal dinner was held at the Chatham Bars Inn.  The beach house, the smell of the ocean, the lobster lollipops, the seashell-adorned centerpieces and favors, even the beachy blue chairs make for a beautiful clambake party.  Photos were taken by one of my favorite photography teams, Brian and Maria.

Real Inspiration: Southern Chic

It’s a delight to feature the wedding of The Budget Savvy Bride, Jessica.  I thought it would be great to add a little “spring” to our Winter, and Jessica and Eric’s wedding is perfect to do just that.  Her color scheme creates a very bright and cheerful combination.  Jessica was on a budget and her wedding is proof that a fabulous wedding does not have to be expensive.  And of course, being a talented graphic designer, her wedding stationery came out beautiful.  Photos by Evin Photography

Real Inspiration: Preppy June Wedding

Erin and Nic’s wedding is one of my inspirations for my own wedding.  The bright color combination of navy, yellow and white makes this wedding so much fun to look at… and to be in as well I bet!  Don’t you just love Erin’s smile?  By the way, she’s my event coordinator at Belle Mer!  Photos were taken by one of my favorite photographers, Kristin Spencer.
