Looking for inspiration, ideas, advice on wedding planning? In addition to magazines and other wedding planning websites, try your hand on blogs. Blogs have populated the world wide web since its introduction and they have proven to be great resources, most of them anyway.

Jessica Merritt at Soul Mating has compiled 100 wedding planning blogs and grouped them in categories: Finds, Crafts, Practicality, Style & Design, Green, Inspiration, Vendors, Advice, Brides and Grooms, and Humor. Most of my personal favorites are in the list. So if you’re planning your wedding, start bookmarking now.
FRIDAY READ: Team Sugar
Team Sugar is an online community where members “meet friends, discuss the latest gossip, share online shopping finds, dish on fashion, learn beauty secrets, swap delicious recipes, blog about their day and much, much more.” My favorite is the site’s collection of “girlie” blogs of different niches including Shopping, Fashion, Money, Technology, and Weddings. I’ve been a member of Team Sugar for a while and I find their articles or posts enjoyable and informative, not to mention more female-oriented. I’m a female obviously. My favorite sugars are GeekSugar, IDoSugar, and SavvySugar.

Believe me, I didn’t expect that lol.

blog stats
I was recently looking at the list of top earners at Payperpost, a paid blogging site. One of the top earners has a blog with huge traffic coming in. The blog’s alexa ranking is in the 100k’s while mine is at 800k’s. I browsed the blog and noticed that most, if not all of the posts are all personal – about the blogger’s everyday life.
I didn’t know that a lot of people are so interested in one’s life, one that is not even a celebrity. My blog contains templates, resources and other info that anyone can use, but I still get a lot less traffic than the aforementioned blogger. So what am I doing wrong?
Well, I tried and I was able to find a few answers to another question… What is this blogger doing right?
- She actively participates in forums and other web communities.
- She participates and hosts contests that helps promote her blog.
- She goes out of her way with her posts, including posting videos of herself.
- She befriends and stay in contact with a lot of people she meets online.
- She created her own directory and forum.

FRIDAY READ: Cupcake Blog
I love sweets, especially chocolate. And the only edible thing that you can get me to create is probably a cake or some baked sweets. Whether you’re like me or you just love cooking, you’ll love the Cupcake Blog.
Cupcake Blog is of course about everything cupcakes… from delicious recipes and ingredients to techniques and themes. Posts are conveniently categorized by ingredients, techniques, and themes.
Â
I should warn you though that cupcake images are dangerously mouth-watering and might send you on a sugar baking or eating frenzy.

Cheryl Porro is the lady behind the blog. She is actually a software quality engineer by day and a baker by night. Her recipes have also been published in the San Francisco Chronicle.
