You may think that A Mom’s Balancing Act is for moms only based on the title alone. It’s not. Anyone will find the blog very useful, from reviews to coupons on everday items. I will admit that my favorite part of the blog are the giveaways. There’s always something new everyday! Go on over there and see what I’m talking about for yourself.

If you’ve hired a professional photographer before, you would know that ordering an album from a professional photographer is not the cheapest. This is why I didn’t include an album in our wedding photography package. I figured I could do it myself. However, most album companies only cater to professional photographers. So I did more research and found PhotoBookGirl.com.
PhotoBookGirl.com is a great resource for consumer photo books. It includes reviews, a very useful comparison tool, and coupons! It also helps that PhotoBookGirl takes beautiful photos.

Now that I’m getting married and a few of my friends are getting married as well, I have gone from admirer of weddings to stalker of wedding blogs. I go through my blogroll everyday and see what’s new.

I’m planning to slowly get rid of the very very very old blog address: www.gnyc.net/senseless. The old address still works and will continue working for probably 6 more months.
I don’t know why I never looked for it before, but I’m so excited I found the WordPress iPhone app. It’s a lot easier than going through the iPhone’s Safari browser to blog. You can easily add photos too, straight from the phone’s camera or photo library.

Aylee Bits is now mobile-friendly. More people browse the web via their mobile phone including me, so I decided to make it a little easier for them us.
You can easily revert to the regular layout by clicking “View Full Version” at the bottom of the screen.
For those who are using WordPress and want to go mobile as well, I use the plugin MobilePress. It’s great and very easy. Just install, activate and you’re done.

It’s the new year and blog redesigns are all over the wedding blogosphere! On the day I launched the new layout of Aylee Bits, two of my favorite wedding blogs launched their new designs as well.
Then on January 16, another favorite blog of mine launched its new design:
My previous layout was very old and it needed an upgrade so bad. The old layout was using WordPress version 2.0 and 15 versions were already created after that!! So I finally upgraded and also changed the layout. I’m still working on it including the colors.
If you see any errors or if you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Since I like the Brides.com site, I figured I will like their blog Wedded Bits as well. Unfortunately, not. I’ve had the blog on my RSS reader for months and I decided to take it out.Â
I noticed that most of the entries on Wedded Bits are about wedding products and services. I’m starting to believe these posts are sponsored – they were paid to post about these products and services. If there are any tips or advice at wedding planning at all, they revolve around a product or service. One exception are the “Brides are Talking” posts which pertains to posts in their forums, which I think didn’t really require much effort or thinking from the part of the blog authors.
There was one post where the author began his/her post about a nice venue in Manhattan where they held a bridal shower without mentioning the venue’s name. Then the author proceeded to talk about a similar venue in California which was the main topic of the post. I then left a comment asking about the venue in Manhattan, but I never got a response. Some assumptions I had as to why: they weren’t paid to mention the Manhattan venue; whatever Manhattan venue they were really talking didn’t exist so they don’t really have a specific name they can tell me.
