Vermont joins Connecticut, Iowa, and Massuchusetts in allowing same-sex marriage. Vermont makes history by being the first state to legalize same-sex marriage through legislature’s vote. The first three states did so through the courts.

New York City, on the other hand, announced a $2 million marketing campaign geared towards attracting gay and lesbian tourists to the city. “There is no more gay friendly city in the world,” said City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, the highest-ranking openly gay elected official in city history.
Will New York be next to join the gay marriage movement?

Southern Weddings Magazine Launch
One of my favorite wedding blogs, Southern Weddings, is launching its premiere print edition on January 6!

The blog is teeming with wedding inspirations making it very addictive. The print edition is surely going to be as great, so head to your newstands starting January 6 for a copy. Contrary to its name, the print edition is going to be sold in some states other than the South, including New York and California.
The new MarthaStewartWeddings.com
I love Martha Stewart and of course especially now, I love her Weddings department. Even though Martha Stewart Weddings is one of the very few magazines that are worth reading, I am so annoyed with the website. Recently, they have done a few improvements.

First of all, MS Weddings finally has its own url: www.marthastewartweddings.com. The navigation and organization annoyed me the most with the old website. Even though they have improved with the new one, I still find the new website to be less user-friendly than other popular wedding websites. But it will do.
New category: Wedding
Wedding bells are ringing! Two of my friends are engaged and I’m very excited for them. I love happy occasions and weddings definitely fit that category. I’ll probably start posting more wedding-related entries so I decided to create a whole new category for all my wedding posts.

My first entry will be my list of wedding resources. It was in my theKnot bio, and I’m transferring it here. Please see next post…
