RAVE: Striped Canvas Bag from Paper Mart

I’ve been looking far and wide for a great guest welcome bag.  I found a few and posted a poll to help me decide.  Reader Lisa also suggested a great boat tote that is very affordable.  In the end, I went with a bag that is not even in my previous list.  And it’s cheaper than all of the bags in my list except one.  And here it is…

It’s the Striped Canvas Bag from Paper Mart.  I ordered 25 of the blue ones (received in only 5 days) and I love them!

The stripes, the color, the rope closure are perfect for my nautical-themed wedding.  They’re a little big for a guest welcome bag, but the guests would be able to use them for a lot of things (e.g. beach bag, overnight bag, everday bag, etc).  They’re fully lined and has a zipper pocket inside.  The material is not the thickest, but it looks sturdy enough.

They cost more at $4.75 each than the boat tote, but I think they’re worth it.  I highly recommend them.

So…I thought this was an AMAZING idea and since I’m having a destination wedding, PERFECT! But, when I contacted Paper Mart they charge just as much to ship as the cost of the product. I wanted 40 bags which came to about $159…well the shipping quote was $140 in addition. I called to confirm the shipping cost, and I was told “that’s the PRICE of getting such good products!”
OMG…has anyone else had this experience??? Not to mention I still need guest bags…

Hi Cassandra… that is really weird. My shipping was $21.36 and I ordered more items in addition to the 25 bags I ordered totaling to 2 huge boxes. I was about to try and see the shipping cost for the bags you need, unfortunately they’re sold out. I instead put another type of bag in my cart costing $165.20 and the shipping cost I got was $10.30, and I’m located on the opposite coast from Paper Mart. Are you looking at expedited shipping? I suggest trying again.

Cassandra must have ask for next day Fed-Ex Air Shipment- No way these bags cost that much to ship.

I didn’t! I had a month until my wedding… I ended up talking with a MANAGER after many attempts and FINALLY received the bags with NO shipping charges…for my trouble!
