STAY DETAILS December 27-29, 2009
Townhouse suite with continental breakfast
Rate: $89/night promotional rate at MillStreetInn.com
I highly recommend this inn for the location, comfortable bed and very friendly staff. The inn was nicer than many of the Hyatt’s, Marriott’s, or Sheraton’s we’ve stayed at.
We got the holiday season special. The rate was for a junior suite (the smallest suite at the all-suite Mill Street Inn). But when we checked in, we were upgraded to one of their biggest suites, a Townhouse suite!
LOCATION
The location is great. It is in downtown Newport and just a block and a half off Thames St. Being able to park our car at the inn’s parking lot and walk to places is a huge plus in Newport.
PREMISES The Mill Street Inn is a historic hotel and you do see its historic charm outside. But when you get in, you are greeted with modern decor and amenities. In addition, the inn smelled great. The lobby was small, but adequate for the number of rooms and guests it can accommodate.
There were 3 floors and basement. The entrance to rooms were in the 1st and 2nd floors. The 2nd level of the townhouse suites occupied the 3rd floor of the inn. The basement had a room where they served breakfast during the colder months. The ice machine was also located in the basement. During warmer months, they served breakfast at the rooftop patio with a view of the river and bridge.
One of my monogram clients, Ruth and Brian got married in beautiful Honolulu Hawaii. It just gives you this warm feeling to see your work, no matter how small, be a part of someone’s special day. Photos were taken by Chrissy Lambert.

Kaite and Jordan’s wedding is the ultimate seaside inspiration. Every little detail just screams seaside chic. The couple fell in-love on the beaches in the Hamptons. So for their wedding, a Hampton-inspired theme is just fitting. Amorology has made this event a true Hampton affair. Just look at the “beside the seaside” photobooth set-up. It’s the best set-up I have ever seen to date. Wedding images taken by Amelia Lyon Photography and photobooth images by The Digital Orange.

I’ve been having problems looking at a distance. And I have been in denial for a long time. But John decided to take me to the Optometrist himself and I got my very first glasses. Pardon the crappy picture.
I don’t like glasses and contact lenses, but I need them especially when I drive. Then I thought about the wedding. Contact lenses are out coz I don’t like how I see with them at a close distance. So should I walk down the aisle with my glasses (that I don’t like) or just walk practically blind and not see John’s reaction until I get right to his face? I guess that’s what our photographers are for… to capture his reaction while I walk blindly down the aisle!

Learn from my mistake, don’t tell people everything you’re planning for the wedding. I was so excited in the beginning of my planning that I just kept talking about it to almost everybody who will listen. Then I realized there’s almost nothing left of my wedding they don’t know about, they will no longer be surprised with all the details I worked so hard on.
Another regret was that I told somebody that he can bring someone with him to the wedding. Now that my guestlist is getting out of hand, we’ve decided we’re not including an “and guest” for singles who know at least a few of the other guests, and he’s in that category I’ve heard him trying to figure out who he should take with him and I don’t know what to do.
