Wedding Tip #5: Think of wedding bands when shopping for engagement ring

This tip is usually for the groom. But if you, the bride, are choosing your engagement ring like me, this applies to you too.
There are engagement rings with the prongs so low that it is hard to find a wedding band that will fit flush with the engagement ring. The setting that I chose for my engagement ring had these prongs. I tried a lot of wedding bands, even contour ones. But they didn’t look good with my engagement ring. The only way to go was to get my wedding band custom-made. So do yourself a favor and think of wedding bands when shopping for an engagement ring.

Navy Blue in the house
When I imagine the house that I would be living in, I never imagine navy blue on any of the walls even though I love navy and white. But when I saw this bedroom at House Beautiful, I guess that will change. The walls are beautiful. And who would have thought shutters would make for a great headboard and bedroom decor?

Trash The Dress: Tiffany & Ly in Cancun
New Yorkers Tiffany and Ly headed to CasaMagna Marriott in Cancun Mexico to get married. Being already in Cancun, they of course chose to do a trash-the-dress session Cancun style. They drove to Tulum for a very sexy photo shoot. They looked like professional models, don’t they? These gorgeous photos were taken by Furious Photographers.

The NotWedding Event – Atlanta
The NotWedding is a unique bridal event in which a handful of the city’s most talented vendors come together to stage a one-of-a-kind wedding. Complete with an unforgettable ceremony, an over the top first dance, a cake cutting, and reception, The NotWedding has become a killer alternative to a bridal show that promotes an atmosphere that inspires brides towards creative options rather than cookie-cutter weddings.
Scheduled for Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Foundry at Puritan Mill, The NotWedding hand-selects vendors to perform their services as they would at a real wedding, and “wedding guests” (i.e. Brides-to-be) get to hear the music, taste the cakes, touch the dresses… while enjoying food, drinks, dancing and loads of free stuff.

Extras for your guests
More and more couples now offer extras at the wedding for the comfort of their guests. It is a nice gesture and guests would definitely appreciate them.
Guest Welcome Bags
Help your out-of-town guests familiarize themselves with the area by providing them with important information like a local travel guide, recommended restaurants, map. You can also add items they may find useful during their stay like bottled water, mints, first-aid kit.
Refreshments Stand / Water Bottles
Summer is a very popular season for weddings. Summer tend to get really hot so keep your guests hydrated with refreshments.
Fans
Help your guests beat the heat. Fans are perfect for a summer wedding.
Shawls
If your wedding falls at that time of the season where temperature is a bit unpredictable, guests would appreciate something they can use when the temperature changes. A shawl would be great for my May wedding.
Parasols
If your wedding is in the middle of the day like mine, guests will appreciate parasols to keep the rays out of their faces.
Umbrellas
Predicting showers? Most venues have a backup plan, but it’s better to be prepared when you need to go out or walk to somewhere. Besides, they are a nice prop for beautiful photos.
Flip-flops
They’re the dancing shoes of the future, don’t you know?
Bathroom Baskets
Things happen and providing guests with items that will help with those little accidents is a very thoughful gesture.
