Venue Saga #1: Wequassett Resort, Cape Cod

Wequassett Resort and Golf Club was in the middle of nowhere, but it was beautiful.  It’s your quintessential Cape Cod resort.  I love the little cove adjacent to the resort and the stretch of sand surrounding it that extends from the resort’s beach front.  Of course, the view was amazing.

The wedding receptions are set up in packages: Grand, Premier, and Platinum.  All packages include reception venue, bar, raw bar, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, and other amenities.  The resort closes in the winter.

There were two venues available:

1.  Outer Bar and Grille

The Outer Bar and Grille is very casual and open.  It resembles your regular beachside bar and grill.  A clambake reception which is offered by the resort would be great at this venue.  The Outer Bar and Grille has a big deck around it where the cocktail hour and dancing is held.  The stairs to the lower level lead to the Pleasant Bay Terrace where the ceremony is held (if requested by the bride), a beautiful fire pit, pool bar and of course the pool area.  Guests are allowed to hang out at these areas, but they are open to resort guests as well.

The minimum required number of guests is 40 and the facility can accommodate up to 75 people.  The facility is not available from mid June to September.

2.  The Grand Pavilion

The Grand Pavilion is the larger venue that is a little similar to your regular country club event hall with a touch of Cape Cod flair.  Adjacent to the pavilion is a small lawn with adirondack chairs, a terrace, and a lounge area.  Guests are free to roam around these areas.  Cocktail hour is usually held at the terrace and extends to the lawn.

Ceremonies for events at the Grand Pavilion are held at the Croquet Lawn.  It’s beautiful and just a few steps from Pleasant Bay (beach).  Minimum required number of guests depend on the day and time, and starts at 80.
