A sample sale is usually an event where designers sell to the public the sample clothing and accessories they’ve used to showcase their collections to buyers and in runways. Most of the items in sample sales come in model sizes, usually 4 to 6. The items are slightly worn, but still good. And the best part, you often get at least half off the retail price. A lot of the sample sales these days include overstocks as well and are not limited to model sizes. In any case, a sample sale is a great source for huge bargains.
Here are a few tips to attending a sample sale:
- Wear decent undergarments. A lot of these sample sales don’t offer private fitting rooms.
- Bring cash. A lot of sample sales only accept cash.
- Shop early for best selections. If you want more discounts, some sample sales reduce the prices near the end of the event.
- To avoid crowds, get to the event as early as possible and try to avoid lunch hours.
- Take as many as you can. When you’re done browsing, go to a corner and sort out your choices.
- Inspect your items for damages. This is very important. More often than not, a lot of the items in sample sales have irregularities or damages. And sales are final.
