a little scare

I woke up this morning and I couldn’t access my blog.  I kept getting “Page cannot be displayed.”  A few minutes later, I got “Internal server error.”  A few more minutes later, my blog was coming up but it couldn’t establish a connection with my database.  I checked my control panel and all the databases were gone!  Ack!!!  And my last backup was March 30.

I contacted Hostgator support and they were able to fix it for me in an instant.  I don’t know what happened, but I’m not taking any chances.  I’m backing up my database more often now.

Wow, I’m so glad to hear everything worked out. I don’t know what I would do if I lost my database. I need to backup more often; starting NOW.

Oh I hate this, makes your heart plummet, especially when you were working on something. I just had to go through the internet not working this weekend and of course I have a deadline tomorrow. My cable company finally fixed it last night so now I’m playing catch up.

It was really scary. And it wasn’t just my blog, I also lost the data for my client projects. I was just so happy they were able to restore it. If I could, I’m backing up my data everyday now.
