You must be aware that cellphone providers charge for 411 calls. Mine charges $1.50 and I use 411 a lot. I don’t usually take with me the phone numbers of the places I go to. So when I get lost, I had to call 411 to get the phone numbers and ask for exact address and/or directions.
1-800-FREE-411 and 1-800-411-METRO are free 411 services. The catch? Advertisements of course. But these services use targetted advertising similar to Google Adsense. That is a good thing. They only let you listen to ads that are related to what you are inquiring about. Click here for an article from The Wall Street Journal about these services.
