No eating and drinking

For the past year, I have been to the INS, passport agency, and Social Security Administration. They all have “No eating and drinking” sign in the waiting room. The rule didn’t bother me until I realized I had to wait for hours.

It’s annoying how federal agencies give you an appointment and they ask you to come in a little earlier, only to find out you have to wait in line coz there are plenty of people with the same appointment who came before you. But since you have no choice, you wait.

I don’t really complain much about it, but telling me that I couldn’t eat nor drink when I’ve been waiting that long since morning and haven’t eaten lunch and the clock just struck 2, it’s just plain annoying and unfair.  You can’t even leave the room or building to go eat or drink since you don’t want to miss your turn.
