Try not pressing it too hard. You might have to try this a few times to see how hard/soft you need to press to get the desired result. It actually depends on the eyelets you buy. The eyelets I love are the ones Paper Presentation sells. The back doesn't break and it's very clean when pressed. No matter how hard I press, it works perfectly.
