RAVE: Crop-A-Dile

I create program fans for brides and I found the best (so far) eyelet tool ever!

One day I decided to drag John to Michaels and while I was browsing, I saw this Crop-A-Dile Eyelet & Snap Punch by We R Memory Keepers.  It punches 1/8″ and 3/16″ holes and sets eyelets, snaps, and more.  The punchers have a depth gauge and can easily punch through 6 of the 110lb coverstock I use.  It can even punch tin cans!  The setter is so easy to use.  Just punch and voila!  Done!  The only minus to this tool is that the punchers can only go to a maximum depth of 1″.  But that’s good enough for me.  I only need 1/2″ for my fans anyway.  It’s not that expensive either.  It only cost me less than $30.

Bought one…it takes about 5 seconds to do eyelets, whereas with a normal eyelet tool it took me a few minutes.

Thanks for the find! I had never even heard of it.

You’re welcome :) . I love my crop-a-dile

I am planning my wedding in Oct 09 and I’ve read your instructions. It is very helpful thaks for the ideas. I like your site it will give other brides so hope to be creative.

Thank you Shantel :)

I just got the crop a dile but it seems to be tightening too much to my fans so that they don’t spread out. Any suggestions?
thanks!
Michelle

Hi Michelle… Try not pressing it too hard. You might have to try this a few times to see how hard/soft you need to press to get the desired result. It actually depends on the eyelets you buy. The eyelets I love are the ones Paper Presentation sells. The back doesn’t break and it’s very clean when pressed. No matter how hard I press, it works perfectly. I know it’s everywhere, but I don’t like the eyelets from Making Memories.

I bought one at Michaels recently to do my fan programs for my August wedding. Thank you so much for your ideas and instructions…people like you make it so much easier on a bride..Thanks again…Keep up the good work

Hi Aylee,

Are you talking about the eyelet puncher or eyelets themselves that Paper Presentation sells? Do you recommend still buying the Crop-a-Dile or buying the puncher from Paper Presentation?

Hi Inky… I was talking about the eyelets from Paper Presentation then use the Crop-A-Dile to set them. Paper Presentation also sells the Crop-A-Dile.
