This is the most senseless ad I have ever seen on TV. Or so I thought.
A girl rubs this thing while the phrase “Head On, apply directly to the forehead.” plays repeatedly. Then ends with the phrase, “Head On is available without a prescription at retailers nationwide.” Click the image on the right to see the ad at Slate.
What is it for??? Oily skin (oil accumulates more heavily on the forehead than any parts of the face)? Zits? Probably a headache coz this ad definitely gave me a headache.
The ad agency for this product may have had hit their heads. They tried Head On and the product may have worked. So the ad agency decided to create this ad for Head On for free. Apparently, it only works for the pain, not the loose screws that resulted from the incident.
But I guess the ad works. It is quite popular. And curiosity (we are pretty curious people) lead people to try and find out more about the product and eventually to the product’s website . Click here for more details about this marketing strategy.
